AEC Connect is delighted to be involved in this event by the Victorian FMA. We will discuss how BIM and Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) can benefit Facilities Managers. With today’s world buzzing with technology, opportunity for data collection, data harvesting and real time reporting.

Since its conception in 2010, Sumit Oberio from the AMCA has established the annual BIM-MEP Aus forum as the premier BIM event in Australia.

This year sees Tyler Goss from our US business partner CASE among the illustrious round of speakers as well as AEC Connect's own Dominik Holzer.

The Melbourne School of Design end of Semester Exhibition was launched on 20 June with great work from over 300 Masters students exhibited over 4 floors. I am proud to be involved in the setup and curation of this fabulous show. It will continue to run until August 8. Go see it on 757 Swanston St. Carlton

BIM for Procurement, Procuring for BIM

That's our heading for this year's Revit Technology Conference in Melbourne, Australia. Can't wait to meet the 400+ delegates and check out all the other great stuff at this most established technology user conference.

Keynote this year will be our old friend Prof. Mark Burry from SIAL

Dominik Holzer of AEC Connect will head to Kyoto/Japan in mid May to present: "BIM and Parametric Design as Game Changers" at this years CAADRIA conference.

It's exciting to be back at this great event to connect with the academic and practice community surrounding high-end technology use in the built environment

Public clients and their representatives are a key stakeholder group for the inclusion of BIM on the projects they procure.

Together with Probuild's Aleks Baltowski AEC Connect had the pleasure to address a group of high-level Project Managers at Major Projects Victoria in early March. We have a short and snappy introduction to BIM and related technologies.

Earlier this March, AEC Connect presented a submission to the Australian Government Productivity Commission for Public Infrastructure. It was a great opportunity to engage key advisers about the role government may play in assisting the adoption of BIM and related workflows.

In early March 2014 Mc Graw Hill released their Australian/NZ Smart Market Report on BIM via serveral events across the region.

Steve Jones introduced a large Melbourne audience of current and future BIM enthusiasts to the finding in the report, followed by a exquisite QnA session with a panel of industry experts from various trades.

On 18 February Dominik Holzer of AEC Connect will present at the AIQS seminar with the focus on the role of the QS as one custodian of BIM data within the supply chain, who aim at deriving value from BIM. It will scrutinise BIM from various perspectives including quantity take-offs, and costings.

This essay provides clients with a straightforward summary of 10 things that are useful to know about BIM. In putting these points together, the author draws on extensive industry knowledge as well as exposure to some of the most prominent BIM projects that have been delivered in Australia.

AEC Connect helped to author 3 new practice papers for the joint AIA (Australia) / Consult Australia BIM Steering Group. They are an extension to the 7 Outreach papers that were published last year:
